Accountant GL for Worldwide Energy Specialists

Introduction :

An international company, specializing in the energy market, is looking for an Accountant to join its ambitious team based in Brussels. The company, headquartered in Köln, Germany, focuses on delivering high-quality services to its customers in Belgium and the Netherlands. The Brussels team consists of dynamic professionals dedicated to excellence and continuous development in the energy market.

Responsibilities :

• Oversee and manage the entire accounting process to ensure all financial records are accurate and current.
• Perform day-to-day accounting duties for operations in Belgium and the Netherlands, including invoice processing, payment tracking, monthly financial closures, and VAT filings.
• Collaborate with the headquarters team in Germany to refine and implement accounting and billing procedures.
• Work with external certified accountants to prepare and review official financial statements and documents.
• Gain a deep understanding of the dynamic energy market and its implications for financial accounting.
• Utilize software tools such as Jira, Confluence, and the Office suite to streamline daily tasks.
• Travel to the headquarters in Köln on a regular basis to integrate with the central accounting team and enhance your role.

Your Profile

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or possess equivalent experience in a similar role.
• Demonstrate a passion for numbers and a strong proficiency in Excel.
• Show curiosity and a keen interest in learning about the energy sector and the company's offerings.
• Exhibit a proactive approach, practical mindset, and the determination to complete tasks efficiently.
• Be a reliable team member whom colleagues can trust to deliver high-quality results.
• Have excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
• Possess strong team collaboration abilities and excellent communication skills.
• Be fluent in both English and Dutch.
